AI training system posts higher multimodal instruction scores
Preprint: VISA uses a feedback loop to build synthetic image-and-text data, and its Qwen3.5-4B test model scored higher on instruction and broad multimodal benchmarks.
Colored polygon triangulations show a split in connectivity
Preprint: Three-color twist graphs have two disconnected exceptions, while validity-preserving flip graphs connect every case with four or more colors where valid triangulations exist.
Learned theorem-proving policies solve more with fewer steps
Preprint: Graph-neural-network policies solved up to 46% more benchmark problems than leanCoP, but gains varied by search design.
Quantum recovery test fails to repeat on an IQM processor
Preprint: IQM recovery fell between execution snapshots, while two IonQ windows met their frozen tests.
Review Maps How Self-Driving Labs Search for New Materials
Preprint: A narrative review surveys physics-informed Bayesian optimization and reports examples from chemical reactions, batteries, alloys and quantum materials.
GPS Spoofing Study Redirects Drones While Detectors See Little
Preprint: Software-emulated GPS spoofing redirected a test UAV indoors and outdoors, but the study assumed an initial GPS takeover.
Ultrasound-trained models top test of AI image similarity
Preprint: Ultrasound-specific models best matched a downstream classifier’s confidence, though the finding was limited to model-based comparisons.
New acceleration framework aims to bridge two optimization regimes
Preprint combines continuous and step-by-step methods to seek faster early progress while retaining the strongly convex rate when the parameter is small.
Rare-earth compounds show new magnetic order and sample differences
This preprint reports a 12-compound survey that finds antiferromagnetism across most of the family, while magnetic responses differed among synthesis variants and after air exposure.
Qubit study reports 16.7-fold longer decay time, but less coherence
Preprint: A pumped transmon showed millisecond-scale relaxation and gate fidelity above 99.55%, while Ramsey coherence was 14 times lower than an undriven comparison.
New theorem classifies invariant measurements on spherical shapes
Preprint: Continuous rotation-invariant valuations on spherical polytopes in an open hemisphere can be written as combinations of spherical intrinsic volumes.
Adaptive AI teacher linked to higher maths scores in larger models
Preprint: The method reported higher benchmark scores at 4B and 8B, but lower scores at 1.7B.
Preprint models near-zero service cost at a 15% power-reduction goal
An arXiv preprint describes Slasher, a system that modulates datacenter power while seeking to limit modeled impact on hosted workloads.
Atmospheric noise may matter more as gravity measurements improve
Preprint modeling finds standard pressure fluctuations below the current reference scale, but future precision targets demand tighter controls.
India's New Spherical Tokamak Reaches First Plasma, but Current Fades
Preprint: IPR reports 114 early discharges, including a detailed shot with a brief plasma-current signal and modeled induced vessel currents.
Graphene devices show electrical signals linked to spin resonance
A preprint reports resonant photovoltage in unbiased graphene and WSe2/graphene devices, with sign reversals near charge neutrality.
Chip Splits and Swaps Light Between Two Frequencies
Preprint: A silicon–lithium-niobate device delivered balanced splitting and near-complete frequency swapping at a 10 GHz separation.
JWST Models Point to Contrasting Clouds on Two Brown Dwarfs
Preprint: Models of two benchmark brown dwarfs find different cloud structures and a possible thermal inversion in one atmosphere.
Simulation reports different settling for cubes and spheres
Preprint: An OpenLB-LAMMPS model compares rigid cubes and spheres in hindered-settling simulations and reports system-wide velocity correlations.
