Preprint reports lattice effects alter predictions for a pulsar-timing signal

A numerical preprint reports that nonperturbative lattice evolution changes predicted scalar-induced gravitational-wave spectra in the high-amplitude part of a selected inflation model. The result also shifts the model comparison with selected NANOGrav pulsar-timing data, but remains bounded by a finite scan, finite lattice and chosen inference assumptions.

Preprint finds a 5.4% mismatch between two BAO catalogues

An arXiv methods preprint says comparing radial and transverse BAO measurements can expose a constant calibration offset that transverse-only fits cannot see. It reports a 5.4% difference between two SDSS transverse catalogues and unusually large scatter in the MM compilation, while interpreting the pattern as a calibration and error-model problem rather than new physics.

Preprint suggests dense gas makes some JWST galaxies look metal-poor

A new arXiv preprint reports that three of four high-redshift candidates initially identified as extremely metal-poor galaxies had very dense high-ionization gas. Accounting for that density produced higher metallicity estimates and led the authors to classify them as possible EMPG impostors, while stressing that the result is limited to four selected objects.

Preprint: Interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS brightened while its colors stayed nearly unchanged

A study of interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS during its inbound, pre-perihelion passage found steady red optical colors, consistent brightening, a persistent sunward jet and an antisolar tail. Spectra clearly detected CN, while evidence for C2 and C3 remained at upper-limit level. Dust-composition and water-ice conclusions remain model-dependent.
