Onion-peel zinc oxide particles linked to lower viability in lung-cancer cells
Researchers used onion-peel extract to make O3, a zinc oxide preparation tested on human A549 lung adenocarcinoma cells. The cells showed lower viability and associated changes in morphology, cell-cycle distribution, ROS and p53 localization, but the findings do not establish clinical efficacy or safety.
