Omnicom has named Christine Gambino CEO of its Omni platform and put Alex McCord in charge of commerce, while Duncan Painter steps down to pursue a senior role in the UK. The moves come during Omnicom's ongoing post-Interpublic integration.

Omnicom has reshuffled two of its key operating units, naming Christine Gambino chief executive of the Omni platform and giving Alex McCord expanded responsibility for commerce.

The company said the changes are effective immediately. Gambino succeeds Duncan Painter, who is stepping down to pursue a senior executive opportunity in the United Kingdom, according to Omnicom.

McCord will lead Omnicom Commerce while continuing as chief executive of Flywheel. Omnicom said Omni and Flywheel remain part of its integrated media capabilities.

The move comes as Omnicom continues integrating its post-Interpublic structure, with the company adjusting leadership around platform, commerce and data operations.

The announcement is a clean leadership change rather than a broader strategic overhaul, but it shows Omnicom is still aligning senior management around the businesses it wants to emphasize as the integration continues.
