The Tigers updated their injury tracker with fresh progress notes on Justin Verlander and Zach McKinstry, both of whom remain on the injured list.
Verlander is still on the 15-day injured list with left hip inflammation after being placed there retroactive to April 1. MLB’s Tigers injury tracker updated on April 24 said he was scheduled to throw another bullpen session and could then move to a rehab assignment or simulated game.
A later report on April 26 said Verlander completed another bullpen session on April 25 and is getting closer to returning.
McKinstry is on the 10-day injured list retroactive to April 16 with left hip and abdominal inflammation. The updated tracker said he was completing running and other baseball activity without limitation at the club’s Lakeland complex.
Detroit’s official transactions log confirms both IL moves. The next steps for both players remain the same: more baseball work, then a decision on when they can rejoin the active roster.
