In the Darnytskyi district, six floors of a nine-story apartment building collapsed. Rescue crews continued working through the morning, and officials warned the death toll could rise.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said more than 90 people were injured. Ukraine's emergency service said it deployed nearly 500 personnel and 100 specialized vehicles to respond.
