Babcock says it has agreed a two-year extension to the Future Maritime Support Programme with the UK Ministry of Defence.

The extension keeps support in place for Royal Navy surface ships, including Type 23 frigates, amphibious warfare ships, Sandown minehunters and landing craft vessels. Babcock said the work will continue mainly through its Devonport and Rosyth facilities.

The original FMSP framework was due to run until March 2026. The company’s announcement means the program will continue while the wider Royal Navy support transition remains in motion.

No commercial value for the extension was disclosed in the available reporting.
