New betting coverage says Scottie Scheffler is the favorite for each of the 2026 majors, with Rory McIlroy close behind on several boards.

Fresh betting-market coverage says Scottie Scheffler remains the favorite for each of the four 2026 golf majors, with Rory McIlroy among the leading challengers.

ESPN published the latest odds update on Thursday and said Scheffler is the top choice for the Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open and Open Championship. The report also placed McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau and Xander Schauffele near the front of the board.

For the Masters, the immediate focus is on next week’s tournament at Augusta National, which begins April 9. AP published a preview on the same day noting the start of Masters week and the pressure on the field heading into the first major of the year.

Golf Channel had already published an earlier major-odds snapshot in January that also showed Scheffler as the favorite in all four majors.

The exact number attached to each player can vary by sportsbook, but the broader market picture is unchanged: Scheffler leads, McIlroy is close behind, and the rest of the major season is already drawing betting interest.
