Booking.com says unauthorized third parties may have accessed reservation-related customer data and that it reset PINs for affected bookings.
Booking.com has confirmed that unauthorized third parties may have accessed reservation-related customer data tied to some bookings.
The company said the affected information could include names, email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses and other details provided to the property. Booking.com said financial information was not accessed from its systems.
The company reset PINs for affected reservations and warned customers to watch for phishing attempts.
Reporting on April 13 from TechCrunch, The Guardian, El País/AP and other outlets corroborated the incident. The company has not publicly said how many customers were affected.
Booking.com has previously warned travelers about online scams, and the latest incident adds to those concerns for customers using the platform.
