Coles reported higher third-quarter sales, driven by supermarket growth and a 24.8% jump in e-commerce, while liquor sales stayed weak.
Coles reported stronger third-quarter sales, with supermarket and online growth offsetting continued weakness in liquor.
The Australian grocer said total group sales rose 3.1% to A$10.7 billion for the 12 weeks ended March 29, 2026. Supermarket sales increased 4.0% to A$9.78 billion, while e-commerce sales jumped 24.8% and accounted for 13.6% of supermarket sales.
Liquor remained a drag on the overall picture. Coles said liquor sales fell 3.9% in the quarter, with comparable sales down 4.3%.
The company also said early fourth-quarter supermarket trends were broadly in line with the third quarter, suggesting the trading pattern had carried into the start of the new quarter.
The update gives investors a fresh read on Coles' core food and online businesses as Australian households continue to adjust spending patterns.
