Southampton have reportedly made Cyle Larin’s move permanent after a productive loan spell, with reports saying the Canada international has signed a two-year deal with an option for 2029.
Southampton have reportedly made Cyle Larin’s move permanent after the Canada striker revitalized his season on loan at the club.
Reports on Friday said Southampton completed the transfer after initially bringing Larin in from RCD Mallorca on deadline day in February, with an option to make the move permanent in the summer. Spanish outlets Cadena SER and AS both reported that an agreement had been reached between the clubs.
Sportsnet later reported that Southampton said Larin’s permanent deal is for two years and includes a team option for 2029.
Larin’s arrival in February gave Southampton a forward option for the run-in, and the club’s decision to keep him suggests his loan spell did enough to convince them to extend the move beyond the initial agreement.
The 31-year-old Canada international joined Southampton on February 2, 2026, after leaving Mallorca on loan with the purchase option in place. The new deal turns that temporary move into a full transfer before the summer window fully opens.
Southampton have not yet publicly detailed the move in the same level of detail across all club channels, but the reporting from multiple outlets on June 5 pointed to the transfer being finalized.
