Dublin City Council sets five-day Castleforbes Road closure

Dublin City Council has set a five-day daytime closure of Castleforbes Road in Dublin 1 from Monday, June 15, 2026, to Friday, June 19, 2026.

The closure will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day and is being put in place for surface water connection works at the junctions with Mayor Street Upper and North Wall Quay.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the works. Local access will be accommodated where possible from the closure points, and traffic marshals will be on site during the closure period.

Diversions will be signed for traffic approaching from North Wall Quay and Mayor Street Upper.

What drivers can expect

The notice affects a busy city-centre corridor used by through traffic, local traffic and businesses in the North Wall area. Short-term disruption is likely for commuters, deliveries and nearby access while the works are under way.

The closure is the latest utility-related interruption on the same stretch of road. A similar five-day Castleforbes Road closure was reported in late May for surface water connection works, indicating recurring disruption along the route.
