The Fiber Broadband Association has launched FRAN, a beta AI-powered knowledge assistant built for members and designed to answer questions using the association’s own materials.
Announced on May 18, 2026 at Fiber Connect 2026, FRAN stands for Fiber Resource Access Node. The association says the tool draws on its reports, webinars, website content and related resources, and returns source-cited answers rather than general web results.
The launch gives members a new way to search and query the association’s library of fiber-broadband information. The tool is currently in beta and limited to FBA members.
Light Reading separately reported the launch the same day, corroborating the association’s announcement.
The Fiber Broadband Association has not yet said how many members have access during the beta or whether FRAN will later open beyond members.
