Strong to severe thunderstorms remain possible across Wisconsin this evening, and the Storm Prediction Center has now issued a tornado watch for parts of the state.

The National Weather Service in Milwaukee said severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening across southern Wisconsin, with damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes among the main hazards. NWS Green Bay also said strong to severe storms remain possible this afternoon and evening, with heavy rain and flooding a concern.

The Storm Prediction Center issued Tornado Watch 103 at 3:10 p.m. CDT, effective until 10:00 p.m. CDT for multiple central Wisconsin counties and adjacent coastal waters.

The watch adds to an already active severe-weather setup as storms move through the region. Earlier coverage had warned that the main risk would focus along and north of a warm front.

Forecasters say conditions can change quickly through the evening, and additional watches or warnings remain possible as the system evolves.

Revision note

Updated with tornado watch issuance.
