Frontier Airlines said it is offering discounted rescue fares and extra capacity in former Spirit markets after Spirit announced an immediate wind-down of operations.
Frontier Airlines said it is offering discounted rescue fares for travelers affected by Spirit Airlines’ sudden shutdown, along with added capacity in markets Spirit used to serve.
In a statement published Saturday, Frontier said the deal includes up to 50% off base fares on certain travel days, with a booking deadline of May 10, 2026. The airline also said it is offering a $199 GoWild All-You-Can-Fly Summer Pass.
Frontier said it serves more than 100 routes previously flown by Spirit and plans to add more flights in former Spirit markets this summer.
The move comes the same day Spirit Airlines announced an immediate orderly wind-down of operations and canceled all flights. Spirit told customers not to go to the airport and said it had no additional funding available.
For travelers, the immediate effect is more choice at a time of major disruption, but also a limited booking window. Frontier’s offer appears designed to capture displaced Spirit passengers as the former rival exits the market.
It is not yet clear how many Spirit customers will take up the offer or whether other airlines will announce similar discounts.
