Florida State has landed Wake Forest transfer Cooper Schwieger, a 6-foot-10 forward who was Missouri Valley Freshman of the Year at Valparaiso.

Florida State has added Wake Forest transfer Cooper Schwieger, giving the Seminoles another frontcourt piece as they continue building out their transfer class.

Multiple outlets reported the commitment on April 23 and 24, 2026. Wake Forest’s official roster bio confirms Schwieger is 6-foot-10 and 235 pounds.

Schwieger spent the 2025-26 season at Wake Forest after two years at Valparaiso. His prior production at Valparaiso was stronger, where he was named Missouri Valley Freshman of the Year and earned All-MVC Second Team honors in 2024-25.

Coverage says the move is part of Florida State’s active portal work under Luke Loucks, with Tomahawk Nation reporting the commitment as FSU’s fifth portal addition of the offseason.

For Florida State, the addition brings size and a proven college résumé. The next question is how Schwieger fits into Loucks’ rotation once the roster is finalized.
