The Global Alzheimer’s Platform Foundation said Sanofi is joining the expanded Bio-Hermes-002 study, which combines blood-based and digital biomarkers with MRI and PET imaging to improve Alzheimer’s prediction, detection and diagnosis.

The Global Alzheimer’s Platform Foundation said on May 18 that Sanofi is joining the continued expansion of Bio-Hermes-002, an observational Alzheimer’s research study focused on biomarker development.

The foundation said the study combines blood-based and digital biomarkers with MRI and PET imaging. Its stated goal is to improve the prediction, detection and diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Bio-Hermes-002 has been expanding in stages. GAP previously said Siemens Healthineers was joining the study in April, and Spear Bio joined in January.

The latest announcement adds another major industry partner to the program, but the foundation did not specify how many sites or participants the Sanofi expansion will add.

No additional enrollment timeline or partner details were disclosed in the available announcement.
