Man City confirm Pep Guardiola stand rename and statue plan

Manchester City have confirmed they will rename the expanded North Stand at the Etihad Stadium the Pep Guardiola Stand and commission a statue of the departing manager.

The announcement came after Guardiola confirmed he will leave the club at the end of the season, bringing an end to a decade in charge.

City said the tribute will recognise Guardiola’s impact across his spell at the club, during which he transformed the team on and off the pitch.

The club did not give a date for when the statue will be unveiled or when the stand renaming will take effect.
