Helado Tropical, the collaboration between Helado Negro and Reyna Tropical, has announced its first North American headline tour, extending the project’s rollout from an album launch into a full live campaign.
The tour is set to begin on August 12 in San Diego and run through November 26, when the group will close in Mexico City. Along the way, the routing includes stops in Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Washington, New York, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas, Austin, McAllen, Houston, Atlanta, Orlando, Miami and other cities.
Tour rollout
Before the headline run begins, Helado Tropical will support CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso at select June dates. The newly announced itinerary expands on Pitchfork’s May report about the project, which said a larger tour would follow after the initial announcement of the collaboration and its first California shows.
The new dates make clear that the project is moving from introduction to a broader touring cycle. The run also broadens beyond the U.S. and Canada with its final Mexico City date.
Album and label
Helado Tropical’s self-titled debut album is scheduled for release on July 17 via Psychic Hotline. The album announcement and the tour announcement together frame the project’s first full release cycle, with live dates following shortly after the record arrives.
Helado Tropical brings together Roberto Carlos Lange, known as Helado Negro, and Fabi Reyna of Reyna Tropical. The collaboration was first introduced publicly in May with the songs Tocando and Sensación.
Further ticketing details, including any local support acts and on-sale timing, have not been fully clarified in the routing information reviewed so far.
