Trump says a deal with Iran is possible as Tehran reviews a U.S. proposal, while Israel carried out a strike on Beirut’s southern suburbs.

President Donald Trump said a deal with Iran is possible after what he described as very good talks, even as Israel carried out a strike on Beirut’s southern suburbs.

Reuters reported that Iran’s foreign ministry said a U.S. proposal is still under review and that Tehran will respond through Pakistan. Trump’s remarks renewed hopes of a diplomatic path, but officials on both sides have not yet closed the gap.

At the same time, Israel said it struck Beirut’s southern suburbs and targeted a Hezbollah Radwan Force commander. Reuters reported that the strike was the first on Beirut since the ceasefire.

The twin developments add fresh tension to an already volatile regional picture. A possible U.S.-Iran agreement could reshape negotiations, but the Beirut strike shows the conflict remains active on the ground.

It was not immediately clear whether the intended target was killed, and Hezbollah has not publicly confirmed casualties in the reporting reviewed here.

For now, the main question is whether Tehran accepts, rejects or counteroffers the U.S. proposal, and whether the Beirut strike affects the wider diplomatic track.
