Dubai International Airport is operating on a limited schedule, Kuwait has reopened its airspace and EASA has extended its Middle East conflict-zone advisory.
Dubai International Airport is still open on April 24, but Dubai Airports says the airport is operating a limited schedule of flights and that passengers should not travel unless their airline has confirmed the flight.
The update comes as Gulf aviation restrictions continue to shift. Kuwait reopened its airspace on April 24, allowing flights to resume immediately under a phased restart. Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways have both announced direct resumption plans from Kuwait International Airport starting April 26.
At the same time, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency extended its Middle East and Persian Gulf conflict-zone bulletin on April 24, with validity now running until May 1. The bulletin still covers UAE and Kuwait airspace, among other regional flight information regions.
That means travelers should not assume normal operations across the Gulf have fully returned. Dubai remains open, but the official guidance is that service is limited and passengers should check with their airlines before heading to the airport.
The next few days will show how quickly airlines restore schedules as the regional aviation picture continues to change.
