INDIA bloc meets in Delhi to review strategy against BJP

The INDIA bloc met in New Delhi on June 8 to review its strategy against the BJP-led NDA, with reporting saying leaders from 23 political parties took part in the discussion.

The meeting was framed around opposition coordination, electoral strategy and parliamentary tactics. Later reporting said the alliance agreed on a five-point agenda and decided to hold its next meeting in Hyderabad in August.

The Delhi gathering came as the bloc continued efforts to present a united front against the ruling alliance. Some parties were absent, but the meeting still brought together a wide cross-section of opposition leaders.

The follow-up meeting in Hyderabad is expected to serve as the next checkpoint for the alliance as it works through the issues raised in Delhi.
