JJ Spaun won the weather-delayed Valero Texas Open after a late surge on Sunday, finishing at 17-under and one shot clear of Robert MacIntyre, Michael Kim and Matt Wallace.

The tournament had been delayed by weather, leaving the final round to be completed under stop-start conditions at TPC San Antonio. Spaun emerged from the congestion at the top of the board to close out the title.

MacIntyre and Wallace had both been in contention during the finish, but neither could find the birdies needed to catch Spaun. The final leaderboard left the pair one stroke behind the winner.

Earlier in the event, the PGA Tour had reported MacIntyre as the leader when play was suspended. But the final round reshaped the race, with Spaun converting his chances when it mattered most.

The result gives Spaun another PGA Tour victory and ends a tense final day in Texas. For MacIntyre and Wallace, it was a near miss after both spent much of the delayed finish within striking distance.

The win was confirmed in later final-result coverage after the long weather interruption, bringing the tournament to a close on Sunday.
