Major League Baseball is marking the sixth annual Lou Gehrig Day on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, with all 30 clubs taking part in league-wide ALS awareness ceremonies and fundraising.

MLB said in a June 1 press release that players, managers and coaches will wear custom 4 decals and red 4-ALS wristbands for the observance. The league also said it began a charitable auction of 30 autographed Lou Gehrig Day Marucci bats on June 1 to benefit the Sean M. Healey & AMG Center for ALS at Mass General.

The annual observance is tied to Gehrig, the Hall of Fame first baseman whose legacy has become a central part of baseball’s support for ALS awareness and research. MLB’s 2026 schedule release had already confirmed that all 30 clubs were set to play on Lou Gehrig Day.

The ALS Association has also listed club-specific 2026 activations, including events with the Minnesota Twins, Tampa Bay Rays and Texas Rangers.

With the league-wide observance taking place on June 2, the day serves as both a tribute and a fundraising push across MLB ballparks.
