ULA Launches Amazon Leo LA-06 on Atlas V 551

United Launch Alliance launched its Atlas V 551 rocket carrying Amazon Leo mission LA-06 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on April 27.

ULA’s mission page listed the launch from Space Launch Complex-41 with a window that opened at 00:52 UTC on April 28. Launch coverage reported liftoff at about 00:53 UTC, just after the window opened.

The mission carried 29 Amazon Leo satellites. Amazon’s mission update page said LA-06 was part of its continuing deployment sequence, and post-launch reporting said the satellites were deployed successfully.

The launch is another step in Amazon’s low-Earth-orbit satellite network buildout, which the company says is intended to support its satellite internet service. ULA and Amazon had both identified LA-06 as a scheduled mission ahead of liftoff.

The next update to watch is a formal post-launch statement from ULA or Amazon confirming final mission status and satellite deployment details.
