Multiple reports say Narendra Modi will address several rallies and roadshows across West Bengal this week as the BJP intensifies its campaign.

Narendra Modi is set to hold multiple rallies and roadshows across West Bengal this week as the BJP steps up its campaign in the state.

The Indian Express reported on April 4 that Modi would begin his campaign from Cooch Behar. The Statesman later reported that he was due to address rallies on April 9 in Haldia, Suri and Asansol, with further meetings on April 11 and a roadshow in Siliguri on April 12.

The Times of India also reported on April 8 that Modi was likely to hold seven campaign events in Bengal this week. All India Radio News had posted on April 4 that he would visit Cooch Behar for election campaigning.

There is still some uncertainty around the full final schedule, with one report describing the April 9 Haldia stop as tentative while another listed it as confirmed. Even so, the reporting points to a packed week of campaigning for the BJP leader across north and south Bengal.

The new schedule reflects the party’s effort to widen its campaign push in a state where Modi has already made previous visits this year.
