Shanghai Metals Market said it will launch weekly lithium ore and concentrate port inventory data on May 22, covering key Chinese transit ports and updating every Friday at 16:00.

Shanghai Metals Market said it will officially launch a new weekly data series for lithium ore and lithium concentrate port inventories on May 22, 2026.

The new indicator is intended to improve transparency around imported lithium ore inventories and supply dynamics at major Chinese transit ports.

According to SMM, the first release will cover ports including Zhenjiang, Qinzhou, Qingdao and Nantong, along with other ports included in the series.

The data will be updated every Friday at 16:00.

SMM published the announcement on May 18, 2026. The first dataset is scheduled for release four days later, on May 22.

The new series adds another reference point for tracking port-side lithium feedstock flows in China, where market participants watch inventory trends for clues on supply availability and downstream conditions.
