Angels place Logan O'Hoppe on 10-day IL with left wrist fracture

The Angels placed Logan O'Hoppe on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a left wrist fracture, after the catcher left Saturday's game against the Royals following a foul tip to the wrist.

MLB’s Angels injury page now lists the injury as a left wrist fracture and says O'Hoppe is day to day on the updated page. RotoWire and CBS Sports also reported the IL move.

O'Hoppe exited after taking the foul tip to his left wrist and was replaced after finishing the inning. MLB.com’s game story and video documented the injury sequence.

The update is a setback for an Angels lineup that relies on O'Hoppe behind the plate and in the middle of the order. For now, the key question is whether the fracture is serious enough to keep him out beyond the minimum injured list stay.
