Pacific Northwest National Laboratory has named two senior leaders to key research posts, completing its senior research leadership team after national searches.

Douglas Mans will serve as associate laboratory director for science mission areas, while Daniel Stephens will lead the laboratory’s National Security Directorate. PNNL said both appointments took effect May 17, 2026.

The laboratory said the moves bring together its senior research leadership team with Angela Becker-Dippmann already in place. The appointments were announced on May 18, 2026.

Mans is listed by PNNL as interim associate laboratory director for Earth and Biological Sciences. Stephens is identified by the laboratory as associate laboratory director for National Security.
