Rangers place OF Wyatt Langford on 10-day IL, recall Alejandro Osuna

The Rangers placed outfielder Wyatt Langford on the 10-day injured list Tuesday and recalled Alejandro Osuna from Triple-A Round Rock in the corresponding move.

Texas said Langford has a Grade 1 right forearm flexor strain. He exited Tuesday night's game against Pittsburgh after experiencing right forearm tightness.

The transaction creates an immediate opening in the Rangers' outfield and gives Osuna a chance to join the major league roster. Osuna was brought up from Round Rock to fill Langford's spot.

The Rangers did not say how long Langford is expected to be out beyond the minimum IL period. The move was also reported by AP and other outlets on April 22.

Langford has been one of the players Texas has leaned on early in the season, so his absence is a notable injury setback as the club adjusts its roster.
