Sunday’s Reds-Cardinals game in Cincinnati was postponed because of rain and rescheduled as the first game of a split doubleheader on Aug. 17.

Sunday’s game between the Reds and Cardinals in Cincinnati was postponed because of rain, MLB said Sunday.

The game will be made up as the first game of a split doubleheader on Monday, Aug. 17, at 1:40 p.m. ET. The originally scheduled second game that day remains set for 6:40 p.m. ET.

The postponement was announced the same day by MLB and the clubs after the rainout in Cincinnati.

The makeup date gives both teams an August day-night doubleheader instead of a single game on that date, with the postponed series finale shifting into the afternoon spot.
