Atlas V Launches 29 Amazon Leo Satellites From Cape Canaveral

United Launch Alliance launched its Atlas V 551 mission LA-06 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on April 27, carrying 29 Amazon Leo satellites to orbit.

ULA’s mission page listed the launch from Space Launch Complex-41 with a 29-minute window opening at 8:52 p.m. EDT, or 00:52 UTC on April 28. The payload is part of Amazon’s ongoing satellite deployment program.

Amazon’s mission update page identifies LA-06 as mission No. 10 in its deployment sequence. ULA and Amazon both described the launch as part of the broader buildout of the Amazon Leo constellation.

Space.com previewed the launch earlier in the evening and said live coverage would begin before liftoff. Freshness checks later confirmed the rocket lifted off at 8:53 p.m. ET, placing the mission just inside the published window.

The launch adds another batch of satellites to Amazon’s low-Earth-orbit network, which is intended to expand its satellite internet system. The next update point is whether ULA provides a post-launch mission status report and whether the satellites deploy as planned.
