An unplanned PG&E outage briefly cut power to Bernal Heights customers Sunday evening before service was restored by 6:20 p.m. PG&E said the cause was still under investigation, following other same-day neighborhood outages in San Francisco.
PG&E restored power to customers in Bernal Heights by 6:20 p.m. Sunday after an unplanned outage briefly knocked out service in the San Francisco neighborhood, the utility said.
PG&E spokesperson Edgar Hopida said the outage began around 5:30 p.m. and that the cause was still under investigation.
The Bernal Heights outage came on the same day as another outage affecting about 1,600 customers in the Mission District and Castro around 4 a.m. PG&E said power in that outage was restored within about an hour, but the cause was also unknown.
PG&E also said the Mission District had another outage on Thursday that affected more than 600 customers between 22nd and 24th streets and Dolores and Mission streets. The company said that outage was caused by damaged equipment.
The outages add to recent concern about recurring PG&E service disruptions in central San Francisco, especially in and around the Mission and Bernal Heights corridor. PG&E has directed customers to its outage center for status updates.
