Charter says Spectrum has launched an ultra-low latency internet feature powered by L4S in Dallas-Fort Worth, Reno, Rochester and St. Louis, with wider rollout planned.
Spectrum says it has launched an ultra-low latency internet feature designed to make connections more responsive for real-time uses such as gaming, video calls and other interactive applications.
The company said the feature is powered by L4S technology and is now live for Spectrum Internet customers in Dallas-Fort Worth, Reno, Rochester and St. Louis. Charter says the service is included at no additional cost.
According to Charter, the rollout is meant to reduce lag and improve responsiveness in everyday internet use cases where delay matters most. The launch comes as broadband providers look for ways to improve performance beyond raw download speed.
Charter said it plans to expand the feature to additional markets nationwide, but did not give a timetable.
Light Reading also reported on the launch on May 18, 2026, corroborating the initial rollout markets and the L4S-based approach.
