A motorcyclist in his 30s died after a collision with a car in Ballynagrana, Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary, on Thursday, June 11, at about 4:45pm.
Gardaí said the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The car driver, a man in his 40s, was taken to Tipperary University Hospital as a precaution. No other injuries were reported.
Road closure and investigation
The road was closed while a forensic collision examination was carried out, and local diversions were put in place.
Gardaí said the body of the deceased was removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford. A post-mortem is expected in due course, and the investigation is ongoing.
Witness appeal
Investigators appealed for witnesses and for any dash-cam or other camera footage from road users in the area between 4:00pm and 5:00pm on Thursday.
The crash has caused disruption in the Carrick-on-Suir area and Gardaí said any footage or accounts from the scene may help establish how the collision happened.
