Philadelphia-area forecasters say the region is entering another heat wave, with the hottest stretch expected to run from Thursday through Sunday before a cooler start to next week.

CBS Philadelphia reported Thursday that this is the second heat wave of the season. NBC10 Philadelphia also said temperatures are climbing into another heat wave across the region.

Forecasters expect highs near 90 degrees on Thursday, then mid-90s Friday and Saturday. Sunday should stay hot, with temperatures near 91 before a cold front brings a better chance for storms late Sunday into Monday.

Humidity is expected to stay relatively low early in the stretch, then increase somewhat by the weekend. The forecast does not show meaningful rain until the front moves through.

The National Weather Service office serving Philadelphia and Mount Holly is the official local forecast source and continues to show active heat concerns for the area.

For now, the immediate outlook is simple: a hot end to the week, a warmer weekend, and a cooldown to start the new week.
