A'ja Wilson says she won't test market, plans to re-sign with Aces

A'ja Wilson says she is not going anywhere.

Wilson told reporters Friday that she is not looking to test the WNBA free-agent market and said, “I’m not leaving Vegas.” Yahoo Sports reported the same day that she plans to re-sign with the Las Vegas Aces.

The comments are the clearest signal yet that Wilson intends to stay with the franchise where she has won three WNBA championships and four MVP awards. Her public stance removes one of the biggest potential free-agency questions in the league.

The Aces’ official site still lists Wilson on the roster and points to her prior contract extension with the team. No fresh official announcement from the club detailing the new deal terms was immediately available.

Wilson has long been identified with Las Vegas, and earlier coverage had already pointed to her desire to finish her career with the Aces. Friday’s comments now make that position explicit as free agency opens.

Any final contract details, including whether the deal is a supermax agreement, have not yet been formally announced.
